Busy week so far! Monday I wrote about. Tuesday, had a lovely time in Boston with Eryk -- Stephen and Sophia adored having him along. We spent about 3 hours at the MOS, then got a late lunch/early dinner at our favorite Chinatown restaurant, where both kids ate well (and Eryk and I, too much). Back to the car by T and bus (always a bonus for the children; they love public transportation. (Sophia says "Buh!" whenever she sees a bus.) Then we drove to the North End and I pushed Eryk out of the car (well, okay, not literally) to get cannoli at Mike's Pastry. Mmmm, sooooo goooood! From there it's an easy jump onto 93N, so we went home :)
Yesterday, bummed around the house for a while, waiting for David to call and let us know which flight he was taking home. Turned out to be the late one (7:30 departure), so we waited until about 4 to leave for Nashua -- I was determined to get to JL Plum before our Baltimore excursion. Well, this time we made it, and it was open, and I got such a good clothes haul! I'll be able to chuck most of my (badly-fitting, ill-looking, frumpy) t-shirts, having replaced them with more fitted and comfortable linen shirts. I got 4 pairs of pants (3 linen, one denim) and 9 shirts (2 fitted t-shirts, 7 linen!) all for $96. Most of the shirts were $5 each! I love that place. If you're in the area, it's totally worth the drive! The clothes are all fine quality (they're things that didn't sell, I guess, from Chadwick's and other catalogs), and if you're a standard size, they have even more stuff than for plus sizes, of which there is plenty. Great for work waredrobes, I think.
We ate dinner at Uno's in Nashua -- kids split a kids' meal, though neither ate very much. We had fun there, anyway. Then drove up to Manchester to wait for David's flight to come in. I should have stopped at my IL's first (they live right near the airport), but wasn't sure they'd be home, so I went straight to the airport -- figured we'd have no problem killing 90 minutes there. Well, not so much. The kids loved watching the planes take off and land, from the observation deck, but it got old fast. So I called the ILs from a public phone (David had my cell), and they arrived about 20 minutes later to play with the kids until David arrived. His plane ended up being about 30 minutes late, due to some weather or another, but at last it came, and we went home. Got here around 11 pm, kids were exhausted, we all slept.
And now it's morning again, and I'm doing 4 loads of laundry 8|
