STEREO went up successfully!
We watched the launch on NASA tv on the computer, since it would have cost an arm and a leg for all of us to fly to Florida (not to mention, Florida :P ) but it was pretty exciting anyway. Stephen was particularly thrilled :) The page I linked to includes videos, and you can (if so inclined) get information about the mission -- it's what David's been working on for the last many many years (one of the projects, anyway) and it's awesome to think that parts he created and held in his hands are now travelling around the planet at 20K mph!
The next project launch that David's working on will be in 2013 -- Stephen will be 13, Sophia, 10 -- and that's MMS. IBEX will launch before that, but on a Pegasus rocket, which isn't a watching sort of launch.
Anyway, the launch looks to have gone quite well, so I think we're off to bed!
More personal stuff later :P
