Evolution is a blind watchmaker :)

And maybe it was the music, or maybe it's because I'm a hormonal, pregnant, science-geeky sap, but this actually made me cry. Evolutionary mechanisms as spirituality -- I was reminded of this quote from the Origin of Species: There is grandeur in this view of life, with its several powers, having been originally breathed into a few forms or into one; and that, whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been, and are being, evolved.

It blows my mind sometimes how something as simple as natural selection can "create" all the marvelous forms of life we see today (and even, with a code simpler than DNA, evolve a working clock!). I love biology!
