Stephen is 5!
Jun. 2nd, 2005 06:25 pmHe's been 5 for 10 days now, so I'm a little late posting this.
He got his first library card today. I was all verklempt. Then we went upstairs to visit his third-favorite librarian (the first two being his grandmother and his aunt!), and I realized it's been 5 years to the day since the first time we brought him to the library. Gah. I can't believe he's 5 already! It's just not possible!
I'm still stressing out about kindergarten. Intellectually, I know it will be good for him to have some regular friends, but emotionally, it's making me really unhappy. I have nightmares about him going, and then the school reports us to social services, or they keep him at school and won't let us have him back, or they just teach him stupid, wrong things. Glarg. So intellectually, I'm sure it'll all be fine, but emotionally, I just don't want him to go at all! I suppose a mild case of that is pretty common, but since we were planning on homeschooling, I have a bad case. Le sigh.
