Nursing is great.
Dec. 4th, 2003 09:28 pmEven with Stephen, who was a difficult baby, there was one part of his infancy that I loved: nursing him. Sometimes it was the only thing that would stop him from crying. When he got older, I knew it made him happy, and kept him from getting sick (he's never had an ear infection!), and satisfied his nutritional needs when he wouldn't eat anything else. But it's even better with Sophia -- she is just 9 weeks old, but smiles while she's nursing, and looks up at me with a big grin, milk running down her cheek. She grunts and sighs and coos and just makes the very best noises while she's nursing -- there's nothing discreet about it! She's terrific all-around, and I'll miss her entire infancy, but I'll miss this the most, I think.
