My senior year of high school:
What year was it? 1990-1991
What were your favorite bands or musical artists? Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Mendelssohn...
What was your favorite outfit? Jeans and t-shirts. Occasionally long tiered skirts that I made myself.
What was up with your hair? Shoulder-length, plain, bangs. No high hair for me!
Who were your best friends? Lauren and Jenn-fur. Long distance:
zauditu and Derek
What did you do after school? Listened to classical music in my room while I did my homework. Boy, was I dull! Oh, and some compulsive eating that I had forgotten about until now. Great.
Where did you work? Briefly at The Toy Works, before I got laid off. It lasted about 4 months, actually.
Did you take the bus? Most of the time. Sometimes I walked, if I had to stay after school for something. The late bus took longer to get me home than walking did.
Who did you have a crush on? Rob T.
Did you fight with your parents? Not often.
Who did you have a CELEBRITY crush on? Um, maybe David Bowie in Labyrinth. Especially in those tights. And Jennifer Connelly, too. So cute!
Did you smoke cigarettes? Good lord, no! I was the one who'd walk past the bad girls' bathroom making choking noises. Plus, you know, asthma.
Did you lug all of your books around in your backpack because you were too nervous to find your locker? I caved in to peer pressure in 10th grade and stopped carrying a backpack around school because none of the other girls did. But I went back to carrying one my senior year, having realized it was stupid to lug all my books in my arms. Of course, I still went to my locker to change out books at least three times a day.
Did you have a 'clique'? Not as such. I hung out with the same bunch of non-popular folk every day, but we weren't exclusive or anything.
Did you have "The Max" like Zach Kelly and Slater? I don't know what that is.
Admit it, were you popular? Not in the slightest, especially after my battle to get the school to move the invocation/benediction to a non-public-school venue!
Who did you want to be just like? No one in particular
What did you want to be when you grew up? English teacher
Where did you think you'd be at the age you are now? Probably teaching, married, one or two kids.
