Accident pictures
Don't worry, you won't see anything gross unless you want to :)
Thanks to everyone who offered sympathy in my last post -- it means a lot to me, and I wish I had the typing abilities to reply to each comment separately -- unfortunately, I'm finding out just how much I depend on my first two fingers!!
Here's the note Stephen made for me -- it was hanging on the inside of the door when I got back from the ER:

He wrote it completely by himself -- hence the spellings :) The hand with the heart in it totally cracks me up.
And if you're curious to see how the fingers are looking as of this morning (I was allowed to wash with warm soapy water starting today), click here (a link, not a LJ cut). But be warned, it's pretty gross. Not as bad as the night of the accident, when my finger was also all puffy from the lidocaine and saline injection, but still not pretty.
So, that's how I've been lately :P

As for your fingers: OW! That must have been really nasty. But I'm glad that it's looking like it's been taken care of, and will be ok.

I feel for you. I didn't get a chance to respond before, but 2 days before Christmas I cut off the tip of one of my fingers after thinking maybe a second earlier that I'd better be careful or I'm going to cut off one of my fingertips. :P Had to go to ER as well and the whole deal. You have my sympathy.

looks like it was at least a "clean cut".
Another addition of finger stiches warrior stories
I've had stiches in both of my hands. One time it was because a small horsepowered motor ground the tip of my finger, taking the finger nail too. I still have my finger tip, though, it didn't go all the way off. That was when I was 9. funny i didn't feel it happen, either. I' have to post the story sometime. The other time was when I was 2, but the scar is much bigger than the other incident. That one was from wire that hooked my hand jumping from a swing.
Get healed soon! And I swear by the healing powers of breastmilk. Belle sliced her hand last week on some glass (don't ask), but not even a week later you can't tell it, and it was bad enough for me to consider taking her to the ER. I soaked her hand in milk for two evenings.
*hugs*

It looks like it's doing alright, though. (Dh looked over my shoulder and said: 'Damn!', however.) Hopefully you'll be right as rain before you know it, and you'll have lots of help while your husband is gone.
And you have just a sweetie for a son. The hand is the best part, it could be an icon by itself.

I have been back twice to read since I left in -- gee, when was it? September? October? November? Sometime before xmas -- just to check on the pregnant folks and the ones I really liked (I'm glad you have a LJ!). I miss Julie C. a lot -- she is so cool. But I realized I was spending far, far too much time on TPW, and neglecting things I should have been doing, plus I was feeling as though I had so little in common in terms of philosophy with the majority of posters, it would be less stressful to spend my time on the (one) forum I currently read that is directly related to my business (thebabywearer.com). I don't know if you'd want to pass along that Stephen is doing really well in Kindergarten, and it was just a matter of me not having as much time to spend on the forum, but I'd appreciate it if you might :) And thanks for the link!

I am in contact with Jan, and she says that Stephen is doing really well in Kindergarten and her leaving TPW was just a matter of her not having as much time to spend on the forum.
That cool with you?
