Happy birthday to me

I'm 32 today. Kind of a boring birthday. Doesn't have much going for it, besides being 2^5. We went to Boston -- MOS, Chinatown for lunch, Target, Trader Joe's. Stephen was cranky, Sophie was restless, still had fun. Stephen was distraught for a while because he didn't have a present for me, and you *have* to have presents on your birthday, but I think I eventually got across to him that it's different when you're a grown-up, and all I really wanted was a hug and kiss.

Now I'm just sleepy. Not looking forward to the stupid-hot weather tomorrow. Must put in the ACs. Glad we live here and not further south, but even so, it shouldn't get to be 96 degrees F in New Hampshire. That's just not right.

happy birthday! a little late : / I hope you had fun, it was certainly warm around here today.

Oh, bother, I'm sorry I missed it. Happy birthday yesterday!

I hope the weather today isn't as bad as you fear...

Happy Birthday, I just realized we share the same day! 8D

Happy Birthday, my friend. You have caught up with me again.

And it's global warming. Get used to it. LOL.

Happy Happy Happy Happy HAppy HAppy Birthday!!!!!!!! Belated, but sincere.

Thanks! 90s here today, so we've put in the ACs. I always feel guilty using an air conditioner, but DH says it uses a lot less fuel/electricity than keeping the house warm in the winter and I don't feel guilty about that ;) It just seems more optional to be cool than warm, though I turn into a sweaty, cranky beast when it gets to be more than 85 or so. I wanna move back to Canada.

[identity profile] jan-andrea.livejournal.com 2006-06-18 04:26 pm (UTC)(link)
That's okay :) It's 32, so, eh.

90s today (30s Celcius). Does it ever get that hot in GB? If not, I want to move there. I'll put up with rain and no snow if that's what it takes :) (Plus, you know, Glitterboy!)

[identity profile] jan-andrea.livejournal.com 2006-06-18 04:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Danke!

[identity profile] jan-andrea.livejournal.com 2006-06-18 04:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks! I used my Napsack all day yesterday in Boston ;) Couple of people stopped me to tell me how pretty it was, which of course feels nice!

[identity profile] jan-andrea.livejournal.com 2006-06-18 04:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Happy birthday to you, too, then! How many candles on your cake?

[identity profile] jan-andrea.livejournal.com 2006-06-18 04:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks :) We'll be 32 together for a while, then?

Yup. Sucktastic. But of course, "there's no scientific consensus on global warming" -- those bastards can bite my sweaty white ass. Fuckers. You want evidence? Come to New Hampshire, where it used to top out in the 80s, and now we frequently get whole weeks in the high 90s. Garbage "science" making energy policy... happy birthday to me :P

Wow, that turned into a rant right quick. LOL!

[identity profile] jan-andrea.livejournal.com 2006-06-18 04:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks :) Miss you, BTW.

Happy Birthday, big sister!!! I hope you had fun in Boston - that's cute about Stephen and the present.

I'm hoping to find something Jantastic in N'awlins to bring back for you :)

Also, OMFG is it hot today! And of course, I was outside during the hottest part of the day, because I'm smrt like that.

[identity profile] jan-andrea.livejournal.com 2006-06-18 05:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks! We did have a good time, despite the whining :)

Do you guys want or need another AC (or even two)? We've just replaced the one in David's room, and had another from last year that was replaced, so we have two that could use a home. They're reasonably efficient, moreso if they're run in a shady window. We'd be very happy for you to have them :)

Happy day!!!
We've got to get together on one of your Boston jaunts! I mean, I live so close to the MOS!!

[identity profile] brunahildm.livejournal.com 2006-06-18 05:35 pm (UTC)(link)
That would be excellent! We're very much enjoying the hutch you gave us :D

Gern geschehen ;-)

belated, but happy I hope!

Happy birthday!

33, give or take a 'don't touch!' :)

It doesn't often get that hot here (though we've had it in the high 20s Celsius in the last few days). But the problem in this country is that we're not well prepared for it. So, for instance, air-conditioning in homes is highly unusual, and isn't even universal elsewhere. We have the same problem with the winter, as well: a moderate snowfall can quite easily bring things grinding to a halt.

I'm sitting here in my study with all the windows open, turfing the cats off my lap, because it's just too hot to have them there.
